私たち日本人は何気なく利用している居酒屋ですが、外国人からみると？？？がいっぱい

です。サクラホテル幡ヶ谷には外国人観光客がたくさん宿泊されるので、いっしょに居酒屋に

いったりするのですが、みなさん居酒屋ルールに興味しんしんです。

When you come to Japan, you got to go to Izakaya at least once.

zakaya (Japanese style bar) is not just the place of drinking. Its the place you can make local pals, chat with many kinds of people you never met, and of course can eat fresh and reasonable foods.

Today, let me tell you how to act like local Japanese at Izakaya. When you master all instruction, you will be fit any Izakaya right in.

その?居酒屋にはいったら人数分の指をたてる。

その?そのおしぼりを顔にのせる。

1. Tell number of people:  1 (Hitori), 2 (Futari) 3 (Sannin), more than 4 : Use your finger

After Izakaya Staff takes you to seat, they will bring you Oshibori (Wet towel).

その?　席についたら「とりあえず【生中】」という。

その?手をあげて「すみません」という。

などなど隣でおしえてあげると、やってみたい！と面白がっています。

私たちには自然なことでも、確かに独特のルールですよね。

3. Order Namachu (Mid size draft beer) immediately.

 Say " Kanpai " cheers, and drink at least half glass.

4. Put your hands up and say " Sumimasen" for ordering. Ask Staff for " today's special". Must order Edamame (Green bean), yakitori combo (BBQ Chicken, can choose salt or teriyaki flavor), Sashimi ( Raw fish) , hiya yakko (Tofu) to be a Japanese.

5. Enjoy eat and drinking. After finish 1st beer, order whatever you want.

Recommend: highball (wiskey w/ H2O) , Oolong hi (oolong tea & Shochu). Nihonshu (sake)

6. Talk to staff or other local customer  friendlily. Key point: Kanpai with them.

7. For asking check, hand gesture like below or say " Okanjo Onegaishimasu" (check please)

Ojisan (mid age business men ) typically repeat this for 3 times with switching places, and finish off with Ramen.

Local small Izakaya recommened. (Not chain store)

TIPS: For female staff, call " Sumimasen, One-san" no matter how old she looks.
